The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disclosed that Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has received N19.8 million in tuition payments under the Federal Government’s student loan scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
NELFUND disclosed the development on Friday through its official X handle, where it shared a letter from the university acknowledging receipt of the funds.
According to the post, the institution received ₦19,797,500 covering the tuition fees of 175 students under the NELFUND scheme.
In the acknowledgement letter signed by the university’s Bursar, Gozie C.M. Egwuatu, the institution confirmed receiving the 12th batch of disbursement through its Central Bank of Nigeria account on June 18, 2026.

The university stated, “We write to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of our 12th batch disbursement on 18th June 2026 through our CBN account worth N19,797,500.00 (Nineteen Million Seven Hundred and Ninety Seven Thousand Naira Only) in respect of 175 (One Hundred and Seventy Five) students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka in Anambra State being tuition fees for 2025/2026 academic session by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).”
The institution expressed appreciation to the management of NELFUND for the intervention and assured that the funds would be applied to the beneficiaries as intended.
According to the letter, “I wish to thank the entire Management Team of NELFUND for their kind gesture and the assurance that the fund will be disbursed to the beneficiaries accordingly.”
The university also expressed optimism about subsequent payments under the programme, stating, “We are looking forward to the disbursement of our 13th batch for 2025/2026 session.”
