Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P Square, has fired back at netizens dragging him for officially moving his birthday celebration date from November 18 to November 30.
In a strongly worded post on X today, the former P-Square member questioned the intense outrage: “Una dey vex like say I cancel Christmas? 😂 Na my birthday date I move… no be your own, why e dey pain you?”
He continued: “Even Jesus Christ December 25th date sef, people still dey debate am 🤷🏾♂️ Why cry more than the bereaved? Only in Nigeria. Funny how my birthday date shift is causing more pain than Nigeria’s real problems 😂😂”
Mr P added: “Just for the record: Insult no dey reduce success. Who don make am, don make am! Know that and know peace.”
The announcement on Monday that he would no longer accept messages or gifts on November 18 the date he shares with his estranged twin brother Paul sparked heated debates online, with many linking it to their long-running feud. Supporters praised his boldness and personal choice, while critics called it petty or unnecessary.
