A Nigerian young lady has sparked reactions online after checking her 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result and discovering that all nine of her subjects had been marked “Held.”
The candidate, who goes by @thatgirljazzy on TikTok, shared a video expressing her disappointment after checking her result.
While many candidates celebrated their grades following the release of the 2026 WAEC results, she was left without a single grade.
All 9 subjects show “Held”
The result screenshot displayed on her video showed that all nine subjects she sat for had the same status.
The subjects included Marketing, Geography, Civic Education, English Language, General Mathematics, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Instead of grades such as A1, B2 or C6, the result page showed “Held” against every subject.
A “Held” status generally means that a result has been withheld pending further review or investigation by the examination body. It does not, by itself, state the specific reason for the withholding.
Candidate reacts to result
Speaking in the TikTok video, the young lady struggled to hide her disappointment while congratulating other candidates who had received their results.
She said:
“E reach my turn to check WAEC result na once I see held. At this point, I don’t know what to say. I’m so happy for you all that saw yours. Congratulations.”
Her reaction has since attracted attention online, with viewers expressing sympathy and hoping that the situation will eventually be resolved.
