Obesere Mourns Saint Janet, Recalls Final Encounter in Akure

Popular Fuji musician, PK1st Obesere Agbaakin, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of gospel singer Saint Janet (Iyun Abolore), describing the loss as shocking and heartbreaking.

In a heartfelt tribute, Obesere recounted his final memory of the late singer, revealing that he had unknowingly witnessed one of her last performances.

“Life is truly unpredictable,” he said. “On July 26, 2026, while I was in Akure, I heard the familiar voice of Saint Janet at the hotel where I was lodging. She was entertaining through the night shortly after I returned from the Dr Smile Live Show. Little did I know that it would be one of the last memories I would have of her.”

The Fuji star noted that the news of her death left him speechless, as he struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss.

“I was deeply shocked and heartbroken. A vibrant voice has gone silent, and a soul that brought joy to many has departed. Moments like this remind us that only God understands why such things happen, and we must submit to His will,” he added.

Obesere extended his condolences to the family, friends, fans, and colleagues of the deceased, acknowledging the impact she made through her music and performances.

“My heartfelt condolences go to everyone whose lives she touched. May God comfort you all and grant you the strength to bear this great loss,” he said.

He also offered prayers for the repose of her soul, asking God to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest.

Saint Janet, known for her powerful voice and energetic performances, leaves behind a legacy that continues to resonate with fans and the gospel music community.
