The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its timetable for primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, alongside the approved cost of nomination forms for aspirants.
According to the party, the schedule outlines the procedures and requirements for selecting candidates, reflecting its commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and compliance with electoral regulations.
The timetable was disclosed on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.
The process has already commenced, with the collection of application forms running from April 1 to May 4, 2026. The sale of nomination forms is slated for May 5 to May 10, while submission of completed forms will take place between May 11 and May 13.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 and 15, with results to be published on May 17. Appeals will be handled from May 18 to May 19, and the final list of cleared candidates will be released on May 20.
Primary elections will begin on May 21, covering State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate positions at the ward level. Governorship primaries are set for May 22, while the presidential primary will hold on May 25.
The process will conclude with a National Executive Committee meeting on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final approvals will be made.
In addition, the party approved nomination fees for various positions: ₦100 million for the presidential form, ₦50 million for governorship, ₦20 million for Senate, ₦10 million for House of Representatives, and ₦3 million for State House of Assembly.
To promote inclusiveness, the ADC introduced discounts, offering a 50 percent reduction for youths and 25 percent for women and persons with disabilities.
The party urged members, stakeholders, and aspirants to strictly follow the timetable as it prepares for the 2027 elections, positioning itself as a platform for credible and people-oriented leadership.
