The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that the Central Admissions Processing System is temporarily unavailable due to technical challenges associated with its hosting arrangements.
In a statement on Thursday, the Board said it wishes to inform candidates, institutions and all other users of the platform about the disruption.
The Central Admissions Processing System, known as CAPS, is JAMB’s official admission portal introduced in 2017 to automate and centralise admissions into all tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
It is the platform where universities, polytechnics and colleges of education upload admission offers for candidates to check, accept or reject, and where JAMB monitors the exercise to prevent multiple admissions and ensure that only legitimate offers are recognised.
JAMB in the statement said it has commenced intensive engagement with the hosting organisation and is working to restore the platform to full functionality as quickly as possible.
The Board stated that it recognises the importance of CAPS, particularly at this critical stage of the admission exercise, and regrets the inconvenience the disruption may cause.
It assured the public that it is working to resolve the issue and will provide further updates as developments unfold, while thanking candidates and stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
