Lagos State lawmaker and Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has apologised to Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over his actions during the recent APC political crisis in Lagos.
Elliot, who represents Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, went on his knees and prostrated before Gbajabiamila as he pleaded for forgiveness and expressed his desire to restore his relationship with the APC leadership.
“I’m sorry, I have no excuse, I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry, sir, and I’m hoping. In our culture we prostrate. Emabinu daddy, emabinu sir.”
He also acknowledged that he had allowed his thoughts to mislead him during the recent APC primary controversy and said he accepted the verdict of the people of Surulere.
Elliot further pledged renewed loyalty to the GAC leadership in Lagos, while seeking to be reintegrated into the party’s fold.
The development follows months of political tension surrounding Elliot and Gbajabiamila. Elliot had earlier withdrawn from the APC primary for the Surulere I seat amid claims of intimidation involving his supporters.
Gbajabiamila subsequently granted him an audience and warmly embraced him during the reconciliation, signalling a thaw in their previously strained relationship.
