The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has once again extended the registration deadline for the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) admission exercise.
According to the updated schedule, the registration window will now remain open until May 22, 2026, giving prospective candidates additional time to complete their applications.
The Board said the extension was necessary to accommodate applicants who are still facing challenges in obtaining required academic credentials and other supporting documents needed for the registration process.
This latest adjustment comes after an earlier extension that moved the deadline to May 8, alongside the approval of more accredited registration centres across the country to ease access for candidates.
JAMB explained that the decision reflects its continued commitment to ensuring that all eligible Direct Entry candidates are properly captured in the 2026 admission cycle without being left behind due to procedural delays.
Applicants have therefore been urged to take advantage of the extended period and avoid waiting until the final days before completing their registration.
Meanwhile, preparations are ongoing for the broader 2026 admission exercise, with the Board expected to participate in the upcoming policy meeting scheduled for May 11, 2026, where key admission guidelines will be finalized.
