Veteran Nollywood actor, Kevin Ikeduba, has opened up about his struggles in the Nigerian film industry, revealing plans to step away from acting and relocate permanently to the United States in search of a better life.
Ikeduba who has spent over 25 years in Nollywood, disclosed that despite his long-standing career and popularity, the financial rewards have not met public expectations. According to him, the industry has not provided him with the level of stability required to sustain the kind of lifestyle he desires.
Ikeduba explained that his decision to leave acting was not made lightly but stems from years of frustration over limited financial growth. He noted that while many fans assume actors in Nollywood are well-compensated, the reality is quite different for a number of practitioners.

“I have been acting in Nollywood for over 25 years now, and honestly, it has not paid me the way people think it does. I can’t afford the kind of normal lifestyle I truly want,” he said.
The actor further revealed that he is currently exploring relocation options to the United States and may consider joining the army if his application is successful. Alternatively, he expressed willingness to take up a stable job to rebuild his life abroad.
“If my application goes through, I might even join the army there, or at least find a good job to start a better life,” he added.
