– Campaign Posters Flood Jigawa Ahead Of ‘Tinubu Must Go’ Rally
Political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election are gathering momentum in Jigawa State, with campaign posters of Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, reportedly flooding the state capital, Dutse and other parts of the state.
The development comes amid growing speculation over a planned “Tinubu Must Go” rally and intensified grassroots mobilisation by Hashim’s supporters challenging President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
At a stakeholders’ engagement in Dutse, Accord senatorial candidate, Comrade Aminu Aminu, expressed confidence that Hashim would defeat Tinubu in Jigawa in the 2027 presidential election.
Aminu, who also coordinates the Hashim Progressive Movement, said sustained grassroots mobilisation and effective coordination among support groups would strengthen the party’s chances of securing victory.
He disclosed that the movement was targeting six million votes for Hashim across the seven North-West states of Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara.
The stakeholders’ meeting brought together leaders of various support groups to coordinate mobilisation efforts ahead of Hashim’s planned presidential campaign activities in the state.
Meanwhile, the reported spread of Hashim’s campaign posters across Dutse and other parts of Jigawa is seen by his supporters as an effort to expand his visibility and take his presidential ambition beyond political meetings to grassroots communities.
The combination of intensified mobilisation, campaign visibility and the prospect of a “Tinubu Must Go” rally signals an emerging effort by the Accord candidate’s supporters to build a formidable political challenge to the ruling APC in the North-West ahead of the 2027 election.
