“I Have Proof “- Peter Obi Accuses Former INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu Of Working For Opposition In 2023

NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has alleged that former INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu worked for his political opposition during the 2023 presidential election.

Obi made the claim while reflecting on the conduct of the 2023 election and his expectations ahead of the 2027 poll.

He said, “I have proof Mahmood Yakubu worked for my opposition.”

According to Obi, his camp made the mistake of trusting assurances from the electoral commission during the 2023 election.

He said, “In 2023 we took things for granted. We believed INEC. We believed what they said they would do.”

Obi added, “The INEC Chairman convinced the world that he would do the right thing, when in fact he was working for the opposition.”

He said his approach would be different in 2027, adding, “This time, we will only trust them by doing the right thing ourselves.”

The allegation has generated reactions online, with some Nigerians backing Obi and others demanding that he make his alleged evidence public.
