Iran Supreme Leader Warns US Of Wider Response To Fresh Attack

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has warned that any renewed United States military attack on Iran would trigger a much stronger response, insisting that Washington’s hostility towards Tehran would persist regardless of political changes in America.

Khamenei gave the warning in a message released on Wednesday, following the Republican Party’s defeats in the US midterm elections.

He said those expecting a change in Washington’s policy towards Iran because of the election results or possible concessions from Tehran were “greatly mistaken”.

The Iranian leader maintained that the United States’ approach towards his country would remain unchanged regardless of which political party controls Washington.

He also warned that any renewed US aggression would be met with a response on a much greater scale, citing Iran’s attacks on American military bases in the region and its handling of the Strait of Hormuz as part of its campaign against US influence.

“The US sees the end of its hegemony as distant; we see it as near,” he said.

Khamenei also praised armed groups allied with Iran across the Middle East, describing their activities as part of the broader regional resistance against American and Israeli influence.

His remarks came amid uncertainty over the possibility of further US military action against Iran, following months of conflict between the two countries.

US President Donald Trump had previously threatened further strikes but said on Monday that he was not considering an immediate attack, while expressing optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement with Tehran.

Diplomatic efforts involving Qatar have also continued, with both Washington and Tehran reviewing proposals aimed at ending the conflict.
